Linear & Pivot Systems Technician

Job Responsibilities:

• Mainly operating and maintaining both center pivot and linear pivot irrigation systems. Primary responsibilities will include ensuring the efficient operation of irrigation equipment, conducting regular inspections and maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing repairs as needed.
• Responsible for monitoring water usage and irrigation schedules to optimize crop yield while conserving resources.
• Operate and oversee the performance of pivot and linear irrigation systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of irrigation equipment to identify and address potential issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and parts replacement.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with irrigation systems, including electrical and mechanical components such as tower/span alignment, guidance alignment, communication between control box of machine and control box of pump for the linear pivot machine or center pivot machine, tower electrical box, motor electrical box, collector ring, manual panel configuration, knowing how to use the multimeter and pens meter etc.
• Repair or replace defective parts and components to ensure proper functionality such as U-joints, U pipes and drop-hose adjustments, sprinkler nozzle awareness in terms of colour and dedicate applications, gear oil change.
• Monitor and adjust irrigation schedules based on weather conditions, soil moisture levels, and crop requirements through automation box and advanced online websites and phone.
• Ensure compliance with water usage regulations and environmental guidelines.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and water usage data.
• Collaborate with farm management and agronomists to optimize irrigation efficiency and crop yield.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to company safety protocols.
