We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to join our team and manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based systems. The role involves ensuring system stability, performance, and security while supporting business-critical applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Linux environments, networking services, virtualization, and system security best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, or similar).
- Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high system availability.
- Perform regular updates, apply patches, and implement security hardening measures.
- Manage user accounts, file systems, and permissions to maintain secure environments.
- Configure and support networking services such as DNS, DHCP, NFS, SSH, and FTP.
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Monitor and analyze server logs, system health checks, and resource utilization.
- Support deployment and management of applications, containers, and virtualization (VMware, KVM, Proxmox).
- Collaborate with development and IT teams to streamline system operations.
- Secure systems with firewalls, access control, and vulnerability management practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 2–4 years of proven experience as a Linux System Administrator or similar role.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Linux OS (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with server administration, shell scripting, and automation tools
- Familiarity with networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, etc.)
- Experience with virtualization and containerization platforms (VMware, KVM, Proxmox, Docker)
- Knowledge of system monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.)
- Understanding of firewalls, security policies, and vulnerability management
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to system management
