Job Summary
The Logistics Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and scheduling the movement of freight to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient delivery. This role serves as the central communication hub between drivers, warehouses, carriers, and internal teams to optimize routing, manage exceptions, and maintain service levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch drivers, carriers, or shipments based on delivery requirements and priorities
- Coordinate daily transportation activities, including pickups, deliveries, and transfers
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve delays, issues, or service disruptions
- Communicate with drivers, warehouses, and internal teams to provide status updates
- Optimize routes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and meet delivery timelines
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and transportation laws
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, routes, and delivery confirmations
- Work closely with warehouse and sales teams to align shipping schedules with business needs
- Track freight costs and assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Handle escalations, service failures, and customer inquiries related to shipments
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or dispatching
- Experience with TMS (Transportation Management Systems) or ERP systems preferred (e.g., Infor, SAP, etc.)
- Strong understanding of freight operations (LTL, FTL, parcel, transfers)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
- Experience handling inter-warehouse transfers
- Familiarity with freight cost analysis (cost per lb / cost per mile)
- Coordination of LTL vs. truckload shipments
- Managing shipments tied to multiple warehouse locations

Pay: $20.00 per hour
