Logistics Team Lead - Freight Management

The Freight Management Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end supply chain logistics operations within an organization. This role involves developing strategies to optimize the movement, storage, and distribution of goods, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery to customers.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Lead logistics and supply chain operations across all phases, including procurement, warehousing, transportation, inventory, and distribution.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies that support organizational goals, including cost reduction, service level improvements, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), freight carriers, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, manufacturing, sales, and IT to ensure alignment of logistics activities.
  • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in logistics performance using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Manage logistics budgets, KPIs, and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Analyse logistics data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. ExecuteServe as a subject matter expert on logistics systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS, TMS).
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and corporate policies, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Drive cost reduction and process optimization initiatives.
  • Strategically mentor and lead logistics staff to optimize processes, enhance efficiency, and achieve superior results.

Experience: 8-10 years extensive experience in Logistics or Supply Chain Management, with at least 3-5 years in Leadership or Senior-level role.

Knowledge/Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Certifications like APICS CPIM, CSCP, or Six Sigma are a plus.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong Knowledge in Supply Chain and Logistics process.
