Job Purpose
Plan and supervise blending and filling operations under toll blending companies (3rd party contracts) related to production of lubricants, greases, specialty oils, etc. Coordinate with toll blending companies under ADD contract to ensure smooth and timely production of required products as per production schedules in coordination with sales, planning and lube stores in a cost effective manner. Arrange receipt of base oil and additives by dedicated blending companies and delivery of bulk finished lubricants. Maintain and update ISO 9001 quality assurance documents for the Lube, Grease and Chemical production plant. Manage storage and distribution operations of GRP III Base oils to maximize value generation for the base oils trading business. Manage in house production of ADNOC Blue.
Key Accountabilities Production Planning
- Assist blending companies in organizing blending and filling schedules, using information from the weekly production programs prepared by the planning engineer, showing the expected sales of export and local products.
- Coordinate with blending companies to prepare and issue a daily lube and grease blending & filling program in accordance with the weekly production program provided by the planning engineer.
- Receive daily bulk delivery plan from the lube stores and planning engineer.
Blending, Filling & Grease Manufacturing Operations
- Prepare monthly COGS for all lubricants and greases in line with the framework of toll blending operations agreements between ADD and third party manufacturers.
- Work out monthly/weekly/daily material requirement planning to release production orders to toll blenders for timely production of ADNOC finished lubricants, greases and specialty products.
- Oversee daily lube blending and grease manufacturing operations and bulk deliveries to ensure compliance with ISO and quality control.
- Solve the operation of toll blending companies and monitor daily production output.
- Arrange issuance of raw materials and packing materials from the stores to the toll blending companies for daily production activities and in the SAP system for timely updating of production and material movement transactions.
- Ensure the correct formulation is used for lube blending and grease manufacturing in accordance with set formulas by comparing with the Quality Control Laboratory samples.
- Supervise and oversee withdrawal of samples of finished products (lubes, industrial oil, specialty oil, grease) from the kettles and send to the laboratory for testing; coordinate and follow up with the laboratory for quality testing and obtain necessary quality control approval before starting any filling operations; arrange any necessary adjustments such as further blending.
- Oversee the blending process to ensure that ISO quality control procedures are adhered to at all times during blending, filling & grease manufacturing.
- Oversee and provide guidance in managing the overall filling operations as per the daily bucket, drum, etc. filling plan; monitor and ensure that staff adheres to quality and safe working procedures during filling operations.
GRP III Base Oils Operations Management
- Lead the GRP III base oils terminal's activities in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain appropriate operational standards, ensuring compliance with management systems, procedures, local/global standards and legislation.
- Manage supply procedures, such as GRP III vessel discharge operation, storage and truck loading operations.
- Check and control product volume, inflows/outflows, and overall gain/loss of GRP III Base oils stored at the terminal.
- Work actively with the terminal's employees for adherence to the agreed terms and conditions of the base oil storage agreement.
ADNOC Blue Operations Management
- Lead the in house production operations of ADNOC Blue in line with ISO 22241.
- Manage timely supply of urea solution from FERTIL.
- Off load and store raw materials as per quality and safety standards.
- Manage filling operations of ADNOC Blue as per sales requirements to supply ADD customers on time.
Slow Moving Product Management
- Coordinate necessary adjustments such as further blending; re blend slow or non moving lube grades by coordinating with the Laboratory and Quality Control to produce better selling grades, reduce waste and promote savings.
Inventory Control and Reconciliation
- Oversee daily/weekly/monthly dip taking of base oils and additive storage tanks, using calibration records to check volume and temperature, calculating correct quantity to ensure sufficient material availability.
- Prepare daily base oil and additive stock statements, listing quantity in each tank and type of product.
Raw Material Receipt and Stocking
- Arrange and oversee receipt, sampling, and discharge of bulk liquid additive containers, ensuring delivery discharge into correct tanks and accurate quantity/quality checks; create goods received notes manually for department manager approval and submission to lube stores.
- Oversee receipt of vessel product, deciding on discharge sequence, gaining vessel master approval, checking quality prior to unloading, pigging to eliminate contamination between products, and verifying documents against bill of loading.
ISO Audit Management
- Undertake ISO coordinator duties for the Production Optimization Department and assist the department manager with control, distribution and disposal of related documents.
- Ensure timely completion of non compliance reports and attend review meetings to address any shortcomings within the division.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor budget and continuously review manpower and operating expenses of toll blending operations, transportation costs, inventory losses, etc.
- Continuously review cost elements and develop & drive initiatives for increasing productivity, reducing overall operational costs.
- Ensure updating of daily production details in the system and use information to prepare daily blending reports, monthly stock statements and other required reports such as ingredient consumption.
- Facilitate preparation of strategic business objectives/initiatives using balanced scorecard methodology and act as balanced scorecard coordinator.
Expansion and New Projects
- Coordinate and follow up with EPD on progress of any new lubricants projects, ensuring necessary support is provided at location for timely completion.
- Participate in project reviews such as HAZOP, HSEIA, HAZID and risk assessment as required.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Instrumentation / Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 10 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry in lube/grease and specialty oil production, including 6 years in a managerial role.
