Key Responsibilities:
Reports To: Plant Head/Operations Head
1. Equipment Maintenance & Reliability

· Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance for all production and utility equipment (mixers, conveyors, fryers, packaging lines, compressors, boilers, etc.).

· Ensure minimum downtime and quick resolution of breakdowns.

· Maintain detailed maintenance records, logbooks, and machine history cards.

· Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.

2. Utility Management

· Oversee operation and maintenance ofutilities like Thermic Fluid Boilers, chillers, compressors, RO plants, and effluent treatment systems.

· Ensure availability and efficiency of all utilities required for production.

· Monitor energy and water consumption and initiate energy-saving measures.

3. Documentation & Compliance

· Maintain maintenance-related SOPs, calibration records, and preventive maintenance schedules.

· Ensure compliance with statutory norms related to boiler operations, electrical safety, and pollution control.

· Support QA and Food Safety teams in ensuring equipment design and maintenance meet GMP, FSSAI, and USFDA requirements.

· Maintain calibration records for critical control equipment (temperature gauges, pressure meters, flow meters, etc.).

4. Projects & Modifications

· Plan and execute installation and commissioning of new machines and infrastructure upgrades.

· Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for plant expansion or modification work.

· Review machine layouts for efficiency, safety, and hygiene.

5. Spare Parts & Inventory Control

· Maintain optimum inventory of critical spare parts and consumables.

· Coordinate with Stores and Purchase departments for timely procurement.

· Maintain spare parts catalog and ensure traceability.

6. Safety & Team Management

· Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety protocols and Lockout–Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

· Conduct regular training for maintenance technicians on equipment handling and safety practices.

· Supervise and allocate work to maintenance staff and contractors.

7. Continuous Improvement

· Implement TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and 5S in the maintenance department.

· Identify cost-saving opportunities through energy efficiency and waste reduction.

· Participate in root cause analysis for equipment-related deviations.
