Maintenance Officer

Karachi, Pakistan

This is an exciting opportunity to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of production equipment at GSK Pakistan. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining equipment efficiency, troubleshooting issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with production, quality, and other teams to ensure safe and reliable operations. Responsibilities

  • Execute the maintenance and calibration of all production systems and equipment, ensuring smooth operation according to the site’s CMMS schedule.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Preventive Maintenance (PM) checklists and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for timely planning, execution, and closure of maintenance work orders, with emphasis on data integrity.
  • Prioritize machinery safety in all operations, maintenance, upgrades, and monitoring, maintaining compliance with Global Engineering Standards and site protocols.
  • Demonstrate expertise in electronics troubleshooting, including mandatory experience with PLCs and HMIs(Programming and Troubleshooting).
  • Maintain strict compliance with Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and Permit to Work protocols, serving as a safety role model at the site.
  • Coordinate with other units to foster teamwork and identify opportunities for efficiency improvement projects.
  • Manage access, data backup and recovery, and audit trail activities in alignment with GSK’s standards, ensuring equipment inventory is current and notifying relevant personnel for reordering needs.
  • Implement actions from deviations, audits, inspections, and risk assessments related to operational equipment, and supervise outsourced contractors to ensure safe working conditions.

Qualifications, Skills and Education

  • BE / BS in Engineering / DAE / B.Tech (Electronics) is required for this role.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in equipment maintenance or a similar role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with different departments.
  • Experience in implementing efficiency improvement projects.
  • Ability to manage contractors and ensure adherence to safety standards.
