Position Summary
The Manager Accounts Receivable & Taxation is responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable function, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices, managing customer credit control, and leading taxation compliance in accordance with Pakistani tax laws (Income Tax, Sales Tax, WHT). This role requires strong financial acumen, regulatory knowledge, and team management skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Receivable Management
- Supervise day-to-day accounts receivable operations including invoicing, collections, reconciliations, and credit control.
- Develop and implement credit policies, ensuring compliance with company policies and minimizing bad debts.
- Monitor customer accounts, aging reports, and follow up for timely collections.
- Collaborate with sales, supply chain, and operations teams to resolve billing or payment disputes.
- Ensure accurate posting of receipts in ERP system and timely closing of AR sub-ledger.
Taxation Management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations in Pakistan (Income Tax Ordinance, Sales Tax Act, Provincial Revenue Authorities).
- Prepare, review, and file monthly/annual tax returns (Income Tax, Sales Tax, Withholding Tax, PRA/SRB/KPRA).
- Manage tax assessments, audits, and correspondence with FBR & provincial authorities.
- Provide tax planning and advisory support to management for cost optimization within legal frameworks.
- Ensure proper withholding, deposit, and reporting of taxes as per regulatory timelines.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare AR collection forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Develop MIS reports for receivables, tax liabilities, and compliance status for management review.
- Support statutory audits, internal audits, and coordinate with external auditors for AR & taxation-related matters.
- Maintain updated knowledge of evolving tax laws, SROs, and accounting standards (IFRS).
Team Management & Process Improvement
- Lead and mentor the accounts receivable & taxation team.
- Implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls and efficiency.
- Ensure ERP system accuracy and continuous improvement in financial reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education:
- CA Finalist / ACCA / ICMA / - Part Qualified
- Experience:
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Accounts Receivable & Taxation, preferably in FMCG, Manufacturing, or Trading sector.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, etc.).
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Pakistani Tax Laws (Income Tax, Sales Tax, Withholding, PRA/SRB/KPRA).
- Excellent financial analysis, credit management, and collection skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Leadership abilities with focus on team development.
