Manager – General Procurement (Non-Pharma Items)

Rawalpindi, Pakistan

Job Purpose:

To manage and oversee the procurement of non-pharmaceutical items, including general store products, consumables, equipment, and other operational supplies for marts and commercial pharmacies, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely availability.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement procurement strategies for non-pharma items (FMCG, groceries, household, cleaning supplies, and utilities).

· Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers/vendors for marts and commercial pharmacy operations.

· Negotiate contracts, pricing, and credit terms to achieve cost savings and quality assurance.

· Ensure compliance with organizational procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

· Oversee inventory planning and stock management to avoid shortages or overstocking.

· Conduct market surveys and competitor analysis to optimize purchasing strategies.

· Establish vendor performance evaluation mechanisms and maintain strong supplier relationships.

· Support store setup and expansion projects with timely procurement of general items.

· Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure smooth payments, reconciliations, and reporting.

· Prepare and present regular procurement reports, highlighting savings, supplier performance, and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

· Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

· Minimum 6–8 years of procurement experience, preferably in marts, FMCG, or large-scale commercial pharmacies.

Preferred Skills:

· Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

· Knowledge of general store and FMCG supply chain.

· Financial and analytical acumen for cost-benefit analysis.

· Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

· Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, and MS Office.
