Market Surveyor – Non-Medicine Items

Rawalpindi, Pakistan

Job Purpose:
Market Surveyor – Non-Medicine Items is responsible for identifying optimal sourcing opportunities for commercial, over-the-counter (OTC), and general items commonly sold in pharmacy environments. This includes products such as hygiene supplies, personal care items, supplements, cosmetics, surgical disposables, and other high-demand non-medicine goods. The role involves active field surveys, price benchmarking, margin analysis, vendor sourcing, and coordination with the procurement team to enhance product profitability and availability across MedAsk outlets.

Role and Responsibilities:

Market Research and Price Benchmarking

· Conduct regular field surveys of local pharmacies, wholesalers, and retail suppliers to gather data on:

o Product availability and pricing trends

o Packaging formats, promotional schemes, and market demand patterns

· Prepare weekly comparative reports highlighting cost-effective purchase options and margin improvement opportunities.

Vendor Identification and Sourcing

· Identify and liaise with new vendors offering competitive pricing and favorable terms.

· Collect quotations and product samples for evaluation and recommendation.

· Propose vendor additions based on reliability and pricing competitiveness.

Product Margin Optimization

· Recommend high-margin, fast-moving SKUs for procurement.

· Suggest substitutions for low-performing or low-margin products.

· Analyze cost versus selling price to support profitability goals.

Reporting and Documentation

· Maintain comprehensive records of survey data, price comparisons, and vendor communications.

· Submit structured reports, comparative sheets, and procurement recommendations.

· Assist in drafting formal correspondence, vendor requests, and related documentation.

Support to Procurement Team

· Coordinate with procurement officers and data entry staff to validate product and vendor data.

· Flag non-performing or slow-moving SKUs for review.

· Share market insights and propose new items aligned with customer preferences and demand trends.

Qualifications and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy (non-clinical), or a related field

· 1–3 years of experience in:

· Retail sales or field procurement in commercial pharmacy chains

· National-level grocery stores, marts, or superstores involved in health, wellness, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG)

· Vendor management or field market research in a structured retail procurement setting

· Knowledge of commonly sold non-medicine products in the pharmacy/retail environment

· Practical experience in pricing analysis and vendor negotiation is an advantage

Preferred Skills

· Understanding of retail pricing structures and consumer behavior

· Strong analytical and comparative evaluation skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related data tools

· Effective verbal and written communication skills in English and Urdu

· Ability to work independently with professionalism and ethical conduct in the field

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Rs37,000.00 per month
