BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE (SUMMARY)
To ensure procured materials meet GAL’s needs and expectations and to manage supplier compliance and approval activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in an Aerospace maintenance/ Engineering/ Quality Management discipline or equivalent level of experience
EXPERIENCE
-
8+ years of experience as a Supplier Quality Assurance in the aerospace industry, preferably in military, with at least 5 years in a managerial role

Audit experience (particularly supplier /second party audits

Excellent computer skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Organize and manage the activities and work of direct reports to ensure that all work within a specific team is completed to the required standards and in line with GAL operating policies and procedures.

Provide on-the-job training and constructive feedback to subordinates to support their overall development.
-
Support and develop opportunities to encourage knowledge and skill transfer to the UAE National workforce.
-
Oversee performance management by establishing SMART objectives to motivate and enhance personnel development through effective formal and informal feedback.

Develop and manage assigned QEHS personnel
Day- to-day operations
-
Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the Suppliers Compliance function to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
-
Manage and maintain the Supplier Quality Manual, and ensure supplier quality management activities adhere to it in order to ensure fulfilment of the relevant AS9110 sections.

Effectively prioritize work, attending to all critical issues in order to ensure the services required by the organization, are delivered in the most effective manner.

Provide technical advice and guidance to GAL’s management on supplier quality control and/or any updates to the standards or regulations that may impact upon the product or service delivered.

Effective manage Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs)

Assist and advise SCM on supplier performance where required.
Supplier Quality Management
-
Ensure material procured meets the Purchase Order (PO) requirements and communicate defects/non-conformances back to the supplier.

Work with the purchasing team to review the Terms and Conditions (T&C’s) of the PO’s to ensure that all quality requirements are defined.

Manage and maintain the Approved Vendors List (AVL) to ensure it only includes suppliers that meet customer and GAL’s quality standards.

Monitor supplier performance metrics, and investigate supplier quality issues to determine root cause, and identify and implement corrective actions.

Perform new supplier quality audits to determine whether to qualify or disqualify the supplier as an approved vendor.

Perform audits periodically on existing suppliers to verify they are continuing to follow approved practices and meet regulatory and other GAL requirements.

Attend management meetings as a functional representative to provide consultancy and guidance on matters pertaining to Supplier Compliance and/or management.
Training & Development

Evaluate and assess the capabilities of personnel charged with Supplier Compliance Monitoring, by developing, obtaining, and documenting any required recurring training IAW departmental policies.
Policies, Processes & Procedures

Implement approved policies, processes and procedures so that work is carried out in a safe and standardized manner.

Ensure amendments to standards and practices are incorporated to all applicable policies, processes and procedures.
Quality, Environment, Health & Safety

Ensure, actively promote and support adherence to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls, emphasizing employee safety, legislative compliance and to promote a responsible environmental attitude.
Continuous Improvement

Contribute to the identification and promotion of change initiatives, programs and projects that reflects international best practices.
Reports

Prepare statements and reports timely and accurately to meet GAL and departmental requirements, policies and standards.

When called upon, assist the Audits & Standards Manager to present compliance data and reports at the QHSE Management Review meetings (MRM).

Ensure accurate data is presented and records are taken at MRM , and resultant actions are completed in the appropriate system.
