Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving manufacturing processes, systems, and equipment to support production. This role works closely with Product Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing while meeting customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize manufacturing processes and work instructions to support prototype, pilot, and production builds.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles to new and existing products.
  • Identify and resolve manufacturability issues through collaboration with Product, Quality, and Operations teams.
  • Support initial builds, customer samples, and validation units by working directly with build technicians and Engineering.
  • Specify, justify, and support the purchase and installation of manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixtures, including CapEx planning and cost estimates.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).
  • Serve as a technical manufacturing focal point for cross-functional teams, suppliers, and management.
  • Partner with Quality Engineering to investigate and resolve manufacturing-related nonconformances using structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, PDCA).
  • Ensure manufacturing best practices and lessons learned are captured and implemented into new designs and processes.
  • Support development and maintenance of manufacturing and quality documentation, including PFMEAs, control plans, and standard work instructions.
  • Analyze production data and metrics to drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work across functional and geographic boundaries, including limited support to other Cascadia Motion or BorgWarner facilities as needed.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on manufacturing processes, tooling, and technical requirements.
  • Support validation testing activities and ensure manufacturing readiness for new product introductions.
Salary Range:
$80,800 - $111,100
