Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production, quality control, and cost effectiveness. This role works cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to support ongoing operations and new product launches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and processes for assembly, fabrication, and integration.
- Collaborate with product design engineers to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability (DFM).
- Create and update work instructions, assembly documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives (LEAN, 5S, Kaizen, etc.).
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues related to quality, efficiency, and tooling.
- Analyze production data and conduct root cause analyses to reduce waste and downtime.
- Recommend and implement changes to improve safety, reduce costs, and increase throughput.
- Design tools, fixtures, and jigs to aid in the production process.
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts to ensure smooth production launches.
- Provide technical support and training to assembly and production staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role (preferably in equipment or machinery manufacturing).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and assembly techniques.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and manufacturing documentation.
- Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Hands-on approach with a team-first mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in metal fabrication or equipment assembly.
- Understanding of PLCs, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
- Experience supporting a product line through its full lifecycle in a manufacturing setting.
