Marketing Associate

Schedule/Hours: Monday-Saturday – Part-time 27.5 hours per week – Monday thru Saturday

This position is responsible for:

Provides support to the supervisor by assisting in the implementation and execution of the seasonal marketing plan for The Salvation Army Mississippi Gulf Coast Area Command (MSGCAC) and Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (RJKCCC); maintains regular updates to all Web content; serves as a secondary point of contact to all advertising contacts; and works with other staff on marketing projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to the supervisor by assisting with the daily operations of the marketing department ensuring smooth and efficient workflow. Ensures adherence to internal standards and protocols at all times.
  • Coordinates the photography of Command and RJKCCC related events and programs on-site and off-site, where applicable. Assists in editing, posts, distributes, and/or archives images.
  • Researches, reviews, confirms, proof-reads and/or implements required updates to the MSGCAC & RJKCCC website and social media platforms. Keeps current flow of communication in social media avenues.
  • Assists in the creation and distribution of informational material to all members of the RJKCCC and others as needed.
  • Assist in production and distribution of RJKCCC Program Guides and New Member packets in print and electronic format.
  • Attends Salvation Army events as assigned by the supervisor to write news stories reporting on the events; conducts interviews to be used in the articles; proof-reads articles written by others prior to publishing.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to follow instructions, plan and organize work, and work under limited supervision.Ability to meet attendance requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines.
  • Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in marketing or a related field combined, AND
  • one to two years of experience working in the business marketing field, OR
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid State Driver’s License – eligible driver under TSA Driver Program
