Marketing Manager

Africell, the pan-African mobile telecommunications company, is recruiting a Marketing Manager to be based in Dubai, UAE.


The role is responsible for:


  • Coordinating with the CEO, CCO, group CCO, and COGO on the conception and implementation of marketing activities (offers, promotions, change of pricing, product, etc.)
  • Coordination with the other units and departments on the project implementation plan for any new marketing activity or change
  • Overlooking in detail the execution of the company’s marketing activities and projects
  • Studying and proposing new offers and products to grow total revenue as well as ARPU and decrease churn
  • Monitoring competitors’ activities and pricing and periodically report on it to the various stakeholders (CEO, CCO, Group CCO, and COGO)
  • Conducting pricing studies, projections, forecasts, and comparisons
  • Daily and periodic reporting on any deviation or foreseen deviation from forecasts and or change in market parameters or dynamics
  • Promptly raising any critical issue or underperformance with the CCO and the various owners (CEOs, and COGO)
  • Proposing action plans to address any underperformance or deviation from budgets
  • Supervising the various types of qualitative and quantitative market research to study consumer behavior, customer satisfaction, market parameters, and the various market and consumer data points to understand, track, and project market and customer evolution
  • Overlooking mystery calls and mystery shopping studies to assess the level of service of the various customer contact points
  • Leading the formulation process for any research material; objectives, measurables, type of research, questions, segmentation, etc.
  • Liaising with third party vendors and owners of VAS and other services owned by third parties on the Africell network
  • Driving Marketing team motivation and development


You will work with the Commercial teams to achieve the contribution to Africell’s mission of bringing affordable, fast, and secure mobile connectivity to millions of customers across Africa.


The ideal applicant will be skilled in Commercial Strategies, Performance Review, Market Research, VAS and Managing the Marketing Team. You will also have at least 5 years’ experience in:


  • Relevant experience as a Sales, Marketing or Commercial Manager
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing commercial & sales strategies
  • Knowledge of budgeting processes and performance reporting
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strategic and business planning skills
  • Proven track record in a commercial environment leading to growth in revenues and customers and overall success as measured against the normal business principles.
