Materials Specialist – Roads &Infrastructure

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Materials Specialist with expertise in road construction

materials to join our consultant team in Saudi Arabia. The candidate will be responsible for

managing all activities related to materials testing, compliance, and approvals, ensuring that all

roadworks meet project specifications, authority requirements, and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and approve material submittals for earthworks, aggregates, asphalt, concrete,

and geotechnical materials.

Ensure compliance with project specifications, local authority standards (MOT,

MOMRA), and international codes (ASTM, AASHTO, BS/EN, SASO).

Coordinate with laboratories for testing soil, aggregates, asphalt mixes, and concrete.

Supervise sampling, testing, and inspection of materials at site and approved

quarries/plants.

Prepare and review mix designs for asphalt, concrete, and sub-base materials.

Monitor quality control of asphalt plants, batching plants, and quarry operations.

Maintain material approval logs and testing reports for submission to consultant/client.

Assist QA/QC Manager in ensuring all materials conform to the Project Quality Plan

(PQP).

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Materials Engineering.

7–10 years of experience in materials engineering for road/highway projects.

Strong knowledge of road construction materials and testing standards (ASTM,

AASHTO, BS/EN).

Hands-on experience with asphalt and concrete mix design.

Familiarity with KSA authority requirements (MOT, MOMRA, SASO).

Excellent reporting, coordination, and communication skills.
