Mechanical Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician as part of a tender submission. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of mechanical equipment within an oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar industrial facility. The role requires strong hands-on mechanical expertise and the ability to work safely and efficiently in an operational plant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of large rotating and static equipment, including:
• Pumps
• Diesel engines
• Generators
• Compressors
• Blowers
• Carry out piping maintenance, including inspection, repair, and replacement activities.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and safety standards.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, piping isometric drawings, and mechanical schematics.
• Ensure proper selection and handling of materials, bearings, fasteners, and mechanical components as per specifications.
• Support shutdown, turnaround, and emergency maintenance activities as required.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, site rules, and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.

Qualifications & Experience

• Three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification / engineering trade certification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience as a Mechanical Technician.
• Proven experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar industrial facilities.
• Strong hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance of rotating and static equipment.
• Good troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills.

Skills & Knowledge

• Familiarity with:
• Mechanical equipment maintenance practices
• Material specifications
• Bearings and fasteners
• P&IDs and piping isometric drawings
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an industrial environment.

Language Requirements

• Good spoken, written, and reading skills in English are mandatory.
