Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician to support field execution, installation verification, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems. The role requires hands-on expertise to ensure all mechanical components are installed and tested in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Execute mechanical activities at site as per project scope and schedule

Provide daily progress reports to the Supervisor

Upload completed activities and documentation into CMS (Hexagon) system

Participate in daily safety meetings (Toolbox Talks) and comply with HSE policies

Maintain proper custody of tools and return them to the Material Controller as required|
Technical Duties:

Interpret and work with:

P&IDs
-
Isometric drawings
-
Equipment data sheets
-
Vendor manuals
-
Verify mechanical installations in line with project design and applicable standards
-
Ensure availability and proper use of special tools, precision instruments, and lifting equipment
Inspection & Testing:
-
Pressure Vessels & Tanks:
Verify installation, alignment, and hydrostatic testing
-
Piping Systems:
Check supports, flange connections, gaskets, and routing as per isometrics
-
Heat Exchangers:
Inspect tube bundle installation, conduct leak tests, and verify flow paths
-
Bolt Torquing & Tensioning:
Perform controlled tightening of flanges and structural connections
-
Leak & Pneumatic Testing:
Ensure piping systems and tanks are pressure-tested and leak-free
-
Firewater Systems:
Test hydrants, deluge systems, and fire pumps
Equipment Installation & Commissioning:

Perform alignment of pumps and compressors (laser alignment, soft foot checks)

Conduct lubrication and oil flushing for rotating equipment

Inspect motor couplings for alignment and condition
-
Test fans and blowers, including airflow verification
-
Monitor vibration levels and bearing temperatures; establish baseline readings
Quality & Handover:

Identify and rectify defects, incomplete work, or discrepancies
-
Ensure all systems meet project and quality standards prior to handover
Requirements:

Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering or related field
-
Proven experience in mechanical installation, inspection, and commissioning
-
Familiarity with CMS systems (Hexagon preferred)

Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and industry standards
