Medical Assistant

Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will support physicians and healthcare providers across outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and specialized departments such as dermatology, emergency medicine, or geriatrics. Duties

  • Perform patient intake procedures including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Assist with clinical procedures across various specialties including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or surgical settings like ORs.
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for provider use.
  • Support providers with medication administration, wound care, X-ray procedures, and basic life support when needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures.
  • Conduct routine patient education on treatment plans, medication instructions, and health maintenance strategies.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in outpatient clinics or hospital settings with exposure to inpatient units such as PICU or Geriatrics is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and basic pharmacology principles.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications in emergency medicine or Level I/II trauma center experience are a plus.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in documenting patient encounters accurately.
  • Strong communication skills with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient service in diverse healthcare environments including internal medicine or medical-surgical units.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings such as urgent care centers or Level I Trauma Centers while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to support both outpatient clinics and inpatient hospital teams across specialties like hospital medicine or emergency medicine. Pay: From $22.00 per hour
