Medical Assistant

Job Description

Hours are M-Th from 8am to 5pm and Fridays from 8am to 1pm. Very limited or no overtime. Paid holidays after 90 days. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, short and long term disability and life insurance after 90 days as well as 401K after one year. 3 weeks of PTO per year, accrual starts on day 1.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED
• Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred
• One (1) year of medical assisting experience required
• CPR certification preferred
• Strong ethical and moral character
• Basic computer skills
• Bilingual - Spanish is a plus!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Update, obtain and document patient’s medical history
• Accurately obtain vital signs manually including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight
• With training and oversight from a licensed provider, administers medications safely, correctly, and accurately
• Accurately reconciles medications and allergies
• Performs patient education under the supervision of a licensed provider
• Obtains pre-authorizations for specialty medications and procedures as ordered by a licensed provider
• Schedules appointments for follow up care and procedures or exams

Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
