The Medical Assistant Scribe supports providers by accurately documenting patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in real time. This role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, supports patient well-being, and fosters a positive environment for patients and staff. The position requires knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and strong communication skills.
Medical Scribe Duties:
- Document patient information as directed by providers in a clear, thorough, and timely manner.
- Ensure all documentation complies with local, state, and federal guidelines, as well as internal scribe policies.
- Complete documentation in real time and within the same date of service.
- Notify providers when charts are ready for review and sign-off.
- Clarify and correct documentation under the provider’s guidance.
Patient Care:
- Conduct clinical intake, including recording vital signs and patient history.
- Assist patients with mobility, exam preparation, and other needs.
- Ensure patient comfort and a supportive environment for both patients and staff.
- Assist providers with patient communications, including follow-ups on results.
- Complete provider orders within the scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate EMR and paper-based documentation for all clinical assessments and procedures.

- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent preferred.
- Experience with EMR documentation strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
