Medical Biller (Start ASAP)

Healthcare Billing Specialist

We are seeking a detail‑oriented billing professional to support the financial operations of our medical services team. This role focuses on accurate claim processing, insurance coordination, and maintaining compliant documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full billing cycle for orthotic and prosthetic services, including claim creation, submission, and follow‑up
  • Address and resolve payer denials, discrepancies, and appeal requests
  • Apply and reconcile payments, ensuring patient and insurance accounts remain accurate
  • Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility for incoming orders
  • Secure prior authorizations and confirm all required clinical/supporting documentation is on file
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, clinicians, and insurance partners
  • Stay current with coding requirements, payer policies, and internal procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in medical billing
    • Experience with O&P, DME, or specialty practice billing is highly advantageous
  • Solid knowledge of HCPCS and ICD‑10 coding standards
  • Familiarity with claim submission platforms and billing systems
  • Strong organizational habits and impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team

Additional Info:

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • Type : Contract to Hire ; long term position
  • Location: Maplewood - 100% in office
  • Pay : $25-$29/hr per hour, depending on experience
    • Annual bonus payout (1-3 weeks of pay)
