Medical Receptionist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our women's clinic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations at the front desk, providing exceptional patient service, and maintaining accurate medical records. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with medical terminology and administrative procedures.

Duties

• Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments and handle inquiries.
• Verify patient insurance information and perform insurance verification.
• Collect payments and manage medical collections as needed.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Utilize EMR systems such as Athenahealth for documentation and scheduling.
• Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and data entry.
• Coordinate care plans with healthcare providers and ensure proper intake procedures are followed.
• Support the administrative functions of the clinic or medical office environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, health information management, and office management practices.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication.
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential for this role.
• Proficient computer skills including typing speed and accuracy (10 key typing experience is beneficial).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
