MEP Draftsman

Role Summary

The MEP Draftsman is responsible for preparing, developing, and coordinating detailed Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drawings for fit-out and interior projects. The role ensures that all drawings are accurate, compliant with project specifications, local authority requirements, and coordinated with other disciplines.

Role Description

• Prepare detailed MEP shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings in line with project requirements and specifications.
• Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural, structural, and other disciplines to avoid clashes and ensure constructability.
• Review tender drawings, IFC drawings, and specifications to develop accurate shop drawings.
• Incorporate comments and approvals from consultants, clients, and authorities into revised drawings.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and local authority regulations in KSA.
• Support the site team by providing timely drawings, revisions, and technical clarifications as required.
• Maintain proper documentation and version control of all drawings and revisions.
• Assist in preparation of as-built drawings upon project completion.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure smooth execution of works.

Personal Qualities & Requirements

• Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience as an MEP Draftsman, preferably within the fit-out / interior contracting industry.
• Diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP will be an added advantage.
• Solid understanding of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and ELV systems.
• Experience working on fast-track commercial, retail, hospitality, or mixed-use projects.
• Good coordination skills and ability to work closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawings and revisions simultaneously.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight project deadlines.
• Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multinational environment.
