Job Title: MEP Estimation Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced MEP Estimation Engineer with proven UAE contracting experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, and commercial proposals for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), and Fire Fighting systems. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of UAE construction practices, local authority regulations, and market pricing.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and client requirements to determine the project scope.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire Fighting, and ELV systems.
• Prepare accurate material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead cost estimates.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
• Prepare technical and commercial tender submissions within the required deadlines.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, project management, and engineering teams during the tender stage.
• Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to assess project requirements.
• Prepare value engineering proposals and recommend cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality or compliance.
• Review contracts, specifications, and tender documents to identify technical and commercial risks.
• Maintain updated cost databases, vendor lists, labor rates, and material pricing based on the UAE market.
• Liaise with consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain technical clarifications.
• Prepare estimation reports, bid summaries, cost comparison sheets, and management presentations.
• Assist in project handover from the estimation department to the execution team after project award.
• Perform the complete procurement process by sourcing and evaluating suppliers and subcontractors, obtaining and negotiating quotations, coordinating technical and commercial approvals, monitoring material lead times, and ensuring the timely procurement.
• Ensure all estimates comply with UAE standards, client specifications, and relevant authority requirements.
• Prepare MEP designs, drawings, and calculations in compliance with project specifications, local authority regulations, and applicable codes and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• UAE experience in MEP estimation with an MEP contracting company.
• Strong experience in estimating HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV systems.
• Strong analytical, commercial, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously while meeting strict submission deadlines.
• Valid UAE driving license is preferred.

• UAE MEP Estimation Engineering: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• UAE drivers license (Preferred)
