We’re Hiring: MEP Estimator (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing)

Position Overview

As an MEP Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing MEP plans, preparing accurate quantity takeoffs, and developing competitive cost estimates for a wide range of commercial and residential construction projects. You will work closely with our sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure quality and efficiency in all estimations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret MEP drawings and specifications for US-based projects
• Prepare detailed material and labor takeoffs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
• Develop cost estimates using software tools and pricing databases
• Coordinate with GC estimators, project managers, and sales teams to align estimates with client requirements
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates within tight deadlines
• Identify scope gaps and ensure all relevant details are included in the final estimate
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction materials, methods, and market pricing, especially in the US market
• Assist in proposal preparation and respond to RFIs and client queries

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related technical field
• Experience: 3–5 years in MEP estimation, preferably for US-based commercial and residential projects
• Strong command of MEP systems, codes, and construction practices
• Proficiency in estimation software like PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Trimble, or similar tools
• Familiarity with CSI MasterFormat divisions related to MEP trades
• Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in a remote or outsourced estimating role for US clients
• Familiarity with US national and state-level MEP codes and standards
• Experience using RSMeans, CostWorks, or other US pricing databases
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple project estimates simultaneously
