MEP PROJECT ENGINEER - HIGH RISE PROJECTS

Manama, Bahrain

Job Description:

  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and project stakeholders to design, develop, and implement MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection) for both new and existing buildings.
  • Perform detailed technical calculations to determine building loads, system capacities, and equipment sizing in compliance with international standards and local codes.
  • Select and specify appropriate MEP equipment, materials, and systems that align with project requirements, sustainability goals, and energy efficiency standards.
  • Develop and review MEP design drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD/BIM tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software).
  • Ensure proper coordination of MEP systems with structural and architectural components to avoid design conflicts and rework.
  • Review and approve subcontractor shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for compliance with design intent and project specifications.
  • Conduct periodic site inspections and quality audits to verify proper installation of MEP systems as per approved drawings and standards.
  • Participate in testing, commissioning, and handover processes, ensuring all systems operate effectively and meet performance requirements.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance to project teams during design, construction, and post-handover stages.
  • Stay updated on latest MEP technologies, green building practices, and regulatory changes, recommending innovative solutions where applicable.
  • Contribute to the development of company MEP engineering standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • 8 -10 years of relevant experience in MEP design, coordination, and site supervision for residential, commercial, and high-rise projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection systems with hands-on experience in execution and commissioning.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and other design/simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of international codes and local building regulations related to MEP works.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Age between 35 -40 years preferred.
  • Valid driving license is required.
  • Strong leadership qualities, adaptable personality, and a flexible approach to work.
