MEP Quantity Surveyor (QS) – Consultancy Experience (8+ Years) | Sharjah ,UAE

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor (QS) with 8+ years of consultancy experience in the UAE, specializing in building projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing cost estimation, procurement, contract administration, and financial reporting to ensure the successful completion of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) works.

Key Responsibilities:1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs (Bills of Quantities) for MEP works.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost control exercises.
• Provide value engineering solutions to optimize project costs.

2. Tendering & Procurement:

• Prepare tender documents, including pricing schedules, scope of work, and contract conditions.
• Analyze contractor bids, prepare comparative statements, and assist in contract negotiations.
• Manage procurement schedules and assess supplier/subcontractor quotations.

3. Contract Administration:

• Draft, review, and manage contracts, subcontracts, and consultant agreements.
• Monitor contract compliance, variations, and change orders.
• Assess and negotiate claims, EOTs (Extensions of Time), and disputes.

4. Cost Control & Financial Reporting:

• Track project expenditures and certify interim/final payment applications.
• Conduct cost analysis, cash flow forecasting, and financial risk assessments.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and cost reconciliation statements.

5. Site Coordination & Quality Assurance:

• Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure cost and contract compliance.
• Conduct site visits to verify completed work against valuation claims.
• Ensure adherence to UAE construction regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience as an MEP QS in a consultancy firm (UAE experience mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, UAE contract laws, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, CostX, MS Excel, and QS software.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent is a plus.
