Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel and other ferrous metals according to project requirements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Set up welding equipment, select proper materials, and adjust machine settings for optimal performance.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions as required.
- Use measuring tools to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances.
- Conduct post-weld clean-up using grinders, wire brushes, or other finishing tools.
- Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
- Perform basic fabrication tasks including cutting, drilling, and fitting components.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Report any defects, non-conformities, or equipment issues to the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a MIG welder, preferably in a steel fabrication setting.
- Solid understanding of MIG welding techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with fabrication tools such as cutting torches, grinders, and measuring instruments.
