Minor's Comp Paralegal
Macdonald & Cody, LLP is an insurance defense litigation firm specializing in personal injury and catastrophic injury claims. We are looking to add a Minor's Compromise Paralegal to our growing pre-litigation team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Macdonald & Cody, LLP is an insurance defense litigation firm specializing in personal injury and catastrophic injury claims. We are looking to add a Minor's Compromise Paralegal to our growing pre-litigation team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Follow up communications with both counsel and proper parties to secure documents including but not limited to settlement agreements, affidavits of heirship, lien status and other documentation required for the facilitation of case settlements.
- Maintain active and ongoing communication with clients and carriers regarding case status.
- Ensure payment issuance to claimants in a timely manner through communications with carriers.
- Closely communicate with team members regarding case settlement issues and assist with resolutions of such issues.
- Preparation of Minor's Compromise Judicial Council forms (i.e., MC-356, MC-355, MC-351, MC-350, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Strong organization and time management skills and ability to simultaneously work on a large caseload.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal court rules and filing procedures is a plus, but not required.
- Works independently with minimal supervision and instruction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc. and Adobe).
- Must have paralegal certification.
