The position

The Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, under the ambit of the monitoring & evaluation framework, will work for the effective design and implementation of the monitoring & evaluation activities of different field interventions by AKAH Pakistan. The job is based in Thatta/ Badin Office in rural Sindh.

The individual will carry out the responsibilities that include the following:
  • Assist Manager M&E in developing and strengthening the monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures at AKAH Pakistan.
  • Understand donor requirements for gender- and disability-responsive reporting, and ensure timely submission in the prescribed formats.
  • Develop monitoring tools to support programme reporting, assist in recruiting enumerators, and facilitate training-of-trainers sessions. Take lead on regional baseline and endline project assessments.
  • Ensure active participation in M&E meetings with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyse both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Monitor project activities and progress towards achieving the project output.
  • Ensuring compilation of data from regions and its entry into the MIS system.
  • Develop progress and other reports on need basis.
  • Ensure availability of reliable M&E data for decision making.
  • Cross check monthly progress data shared by field/ project staff and identify short comings in the project according to the indicators set.
  • Conduct monitoring visits, following the guidelines provided by Manager MIS and M&E and Donor requirements.
  • Develop field reports, based on the analysis of data collected during field visits.
  • Draft progress reports of the project update or other periodical reports, under supervision of Manager MIS and M&E.
  • Write success stories, case studies, and conduct need assessment surveys and impact surveys if required.
  • Assist in coordination with internal and external stakeholders for smooth functioning of M&E activities and the achievement of monitoring & evaluation related goals and targets.

The requirements

Qualification and Experience:
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Rural Management, Social Development, Economics other relevant Social Sciences subject or Business Administration.
  • At least four years of’ experience in design and implementation of M&E systems.
  • Understanding of information systems and extracting MIS reports.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong IT skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Proactive in identifying issues and bottlenecks with the ability to think of innovative solutions.
  • Skilled in analysing data using statistical software such as SPSS and R-Studio, with programming ability considered an added advantage.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English and Urdu, with understanding of local languages in the programme area considered an added advantage.
