JOB DESCRIPTION
The Monitoring Tools Administrator is responsible for managing, configuring, and optimizing monitoring platforms across multiple customer environments. The role focuses on setting up dashboards, alerts, and thresholds to ensure system performance, availability, and proactive issue detection. The administrator will work closely with operations and infrastructure teams to maintain visibility across systems and improve overall service reliability.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer and manage monitoring tools such as Zabbix, SolarWinds, and Nagios
- Configure dashboards, alerts, and thresholds for various systems and applications
- Monitor infrastructure, applications, and network performance across environments
- Integrate monitoring tools with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, BMC)
- Develop and maintain workflows and automation for alert handling
- Perform root cause analysis and support incident resolution
- Optimize monitoring configurations to reduce false positives and improve efficiency
- Generate reports on system health, uptime, and performance metrics
- Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams for monitoring requirements
- Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and monitoring standards
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Zabbix, SolarWinds, Nagios)
- Knowledge of ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy
- Experience in configuring dashboards, alerts, and thresholds
- Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or Shell)
- Understanding of network, server, and application monitoring concepts
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
POTENTIAL BACKGROUND
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Monitoring / IT Operations / System Administration
- Experience managing monitoring solutions in enterprise environments
- Exposure to multi-customer or multi-environment setups
- Experience in integrating monitoring tools with ITSM systems is a plus
CERTIFICATIONS (MANDATORY/PREFERRED)
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator – Preferred
- CompTIA Network+ – Preferred
- SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) – Preferred
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT
- Arabic or Non-Arabic Speaker
