Full Time live-out Nanny required for a Brooklyn family with a young toddler (b. Dec 2024), starting ASAP. You will be responsible for all child-related duties including providing nurturing care and engaging with their son in creative, age-appropriate ways. To be successful, you'll need to be experienced with toddler care and value good communication and creativity. The ideal candidate is able to complete light, child related housekeeping duties (laundry, meal preparation, organization, etc) and maintain all common areas in a clean and tidy state. The ability to work independently and show initiative with engaged wake windows and intentional activity planning such as: sensory bins, messy art, cooking together, libraries, museums, YMCA, the park, etc. . This family is a great match for a creative, grounded French-speaking candidate who loves exploring the city, knows how to turn a walk to the bodega into an adventure, and values being a part of our community.

Location: South Slope, Brooklyn, NY (family friendly neighborhood + playgrounds/Prospect Park within walking distance).

Start date: ASAP

Days/times: Guaranteed 40 hours a week with general hours expected to land between 9am - 5pm. Flexibility as needed for additional evening or sporadic weekend hours is required. Ability to travel domestically and internationally with advance notice (family has a second home in the Catskills) is appreciated, but not required.

Children: One toddler son (born Dec 2024)

Conditions: $30 - $35 per hour* (paid as a W2 employee + all hours over 40hr paid at x1.5 rate) plus unlimited monthly metrocard, sick/personal days, public holidays and at least two weeks paid leave per year. Family open to providing healthcare stipend for the perfect candidate.

For further consideration, applicants must possess the following:

  • Authorization to work in the US
  • Clean drivers license (no city driving) strongly preferred (for independence while upstate) however family open to all strong candidates
  • An ideal candidate has at least 3-5 years experience working with families with young children
  • A well-suited demeanor + recent experience working with toddler
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • French fluency is required. The family wants French woven naturally into daily life through songs, conversation, and play
  • Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, and high emotional intelligence
  • Education or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development
  • A flexible schedule and ability/interest to support a busy, dual working parent household
  • Comfortable with pets - family has a cat and a dog
