Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Network & Systems Administrator to manage and maintain our organization's IT infrastructure, including computer systems, servers, networks, and related assets. The role ensures smooth day-to-day operations, high system availability, strong security, and quick resolution of IT issues.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working with systems, small servers, networking equipment, and supporting end-users.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers (Windows/Linux), network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, access points), and related hardware.
- Manage and monitor Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless Network, and VPN connectivity.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, firmware upgrades, and security hardening.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, Active Directory, and group policies.
- Ensure data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes are followed.
- Monitor system performance, network traffic, and server health using monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues promptly.
- Maintain IT assets inventory (computers, laptops, servers, peripherals, licenses).
- Implement and enforce IT security policies, antivirus, and firewall rules.
- Provide technical support to employees (desktop, email, printer, application issues).
- Assist in procurement of IT hardware and software.
- Document network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
- Work on small IT projects such as system upgrades, new deployments, or office moves.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in systems & network administration (experience in small/medium organizations is preferred).
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Servers).
- Experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPN).
- Familiarity with firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint security tools.
- Basic Linux server knowledge is a plus.
- Experience with cloud services (Microsoft 365, Azure, Google Workspace) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery.
- Ability to work with monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, or basic tools).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Good communication skills (able to explain technical issues to non-technical users).
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
- Willingness to provide after-hours support when needed (occasional).
Preferred Certifications (Big Advantage)
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Windows Server
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
- Any other relevant IT certifications
