Clinical Care
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates and children
- Monitor vital signs, neurological status, oxygenation, and hemodynamics
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and parenteral nutrition as prescribed
- Operate and manage ventilators, CPAP, infusion pumps, monitors, and incubators
- Assist in emergency procedures such as resuscitation, intubation, and central line care
- Maintain strict infection control and patient safety protocols
NICU-Specific Responsibilities
- Care for preterm and low-birth-weight infants
- Support thermoregulation, feeding (NG/OG, TPN), and growth monitoring
- Observe and manage neonatal complications (RDS, sepsis, jaundice, apnea)
- Educate parents on newborn care and breastfeeding support
PICU-Specific Responsibilities
- Care for infants and children with respiratory failure, sepsis, trauma, and post-operative conditions
- Assist in pain management, sedation, and continuous assessment
- Provide age-appropriate psychological comfort and family-centered care
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing records and charts
- Communicate patient status effectively to doctors and senior nursing staff
- Participate in clinical rounds and handover processes
Teamwork & Professional Practice
- Work collaboratively with doctors, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
- Mentor junior nurses and assist in training when required
- Adhere to hospital policies, ethical standards, and legal guidelines
