Non-Emergency Medical Transport Driver

Paid training and company vehicle provided.

SHIFT: Monday-Friday, hours vary.

WAGES: Hourly position. Based on the level of experience with possible increase after a 60-day probationary period. Bonus potential for after-hours transports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent driving record
  • Valid Class E license
  • Satisfactory drug screening results (NO Marijuana)
  • Stable work history with a proven track record for reliability and punctuality

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be coachable and adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Must demonstrate patience and compassion in each client interaction
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work well in potentially stressful situations, a fast-paced environment, and potentially handle schedule changes and unexpected situations.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to learn and utilize company software and routing technology.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull 150+lbs, and position clients in wheelchair bay.
  • This position requires sitting, standing, bending, walking, crouching, and loading/unloading wheelchair clients.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions while performing job duties.
  • Willingness to drive in various weather conditions, including rain, sleet, snow, and possibly ice.

Duties:
- Safely operate a wheelchair accessible vehicle to transport passengers to and from designated locations
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, conducting routine inspections and reporting any maintenance issues
- Assist passengers with boarding, seating, and securing mobility devices as needed
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns or questions
- Follow established routes and schedules, ensuring timely arrival and departure

Experience:
- Previous experience in commercial driving is preferred
- Ability to maintain a clean driving record and possess a valid Class E driver's license
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with passengers of diverse backgrounds
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist passengers with mobility devices as required
