The Research and Development (R&D) Manager is responsible for leading and managing the development of new products, formulations, and technologies in line with the company’s innovation strategy. This role involves supervising the R&D team, overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement to enhance product performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Product & Process Development

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end R&D process for new product development, from concept to commercialization.
  • Develop innovative formulations and improve existing products based on market and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, and quality assurance, to ensure product feasibility and alignment with business goals.
  • Evaluate and source new raw materials, active ingredients, and technologies for product enhancement.

Research & Innovation

  • Conduct research on emerging scientific and market trends relevant to the company’s product portfolio.
  • Drive innovation initiatives that strengthen the company’s competitive position in the market.
  • Ensure proper documentation, testing protocols, and data integrity for all R&D activities.

Team Leadership & Project Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and guide the R&D team to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Plan and prioritize R&D projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with external research institutes, suppliers, and partners when needed.

Regulatory & Quality Compliance

  • Ensure all formulations and processes comply with regulatory, safety, and quality standards (e.g., FDA, GMP, ISO).
  • Oversee product testing, stability studies, and technical documentation for registration and approval.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.

Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to optimize production costs without compromising product quality.
  • Implement best practices for process improvement and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Food Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in R&D, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Proven track record in formulation development and product innovation (preferably in nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, or food industries).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, GMP, and quality systems.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with R&D software tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs100,000.00 - Rs180,000.00 per month
