Job Purpose
To ensure effective implementation and compliance with the company’s Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) policies, procedures, and legal requirements by identifying hazards, mitigating risks, and promoting a strong HSSE culture across all operations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor and improve workplace safety performance to reduce accidents and incidents.
- Conduct accident and incident investigations, prepare reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare and retain all HSE & Security related records as per the procedures, ensuring timely updates, traceability and continuous improvements
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place to manage hazards and associated risks arising from company activities.
- Conduct HSE & Security training, toolbox talks, and monitor man-hours.
- Carry out regular inspections of warehouses, work areas, accommodation and client-specific requirements.
- Ensure timely accident/incident investigation and reporting (major incidents within 48 hours, minor within 72 hours).
- Coordinate and participate in monthly or periodic HSE & Security meetings with internal departments and contractors.
- Issue Permit to Work (PTW) and conduct HSE & Security induction for contractors and visitors.
- Promote corporate environmental initiatives, including Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R) programs.
- Assist in analyzing injury and illness statistics and support the development and implementation of HSE plans and strategies.
- Perform any other duties as assigned related to HSE & Security
- Review, monitor and ensure the implementation of all applicable HSE and Security legal and statutory requirements as per the Sultanate of Oman’s regulations.
- Coordinate with QHSSE Supervisor on day-to-day activities and ensure that all required reports are prepared, submitted in a timely manner.
- Stand in for absent security personnel as needed and manage the responsibilities of Security Staff in their absence.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar HSE role
- Knowledge of Permit to Work (PTW), lifting activities, inspections, audits
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
Technical Competencies
- OSHA and/or NEBOSH certification
- Knowledge of warehousing and transportation safety
- Knowledge of physical guard security operations
- Experience in rigging and lifting operations
- Hazardous materials management
- Strong English reporting skills
- Good analytical skills
- Valid Oman driving license
