POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operational Buyer role at Fives Intralogistics Corp. spans four progressive levels—Buyer I, Buyer II, Buyer III, and Senior Buyer—ranging from entry-level to senior expertise. This position is integral to the Supply Chain Team and reports directly to the Supervisor of Operational Buyers.
Operational Buyers are responsible for procuring materials, supplies, and services based on directives from the SAP MRP system or purchase requisitions. Their duties include issuing purchase orders, confirming pricing and delivery timelines with suppliers, monitoring open orders, and resolving discrepancies related to invoices and receiving.
Success in this role requires a solid understanding of various material groups, such as weldments, fabrications, and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components. Beyond transactional tasks, Operational Buyers foster relationships with suppliers and internal departments, contribute to supply chain initiatives, and help train team members.
This position demands a blend of experience, initiative, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills to navigate both routine and complex procurement challenges.

TRAVEL:
This position requires limited business travel by airplane, car, and/or train and public transportation. International travel is also anticipated. The candidate must be capable of completing airplane trips of 10 or more hours. Overnight travel is estimated as <2% of the time.
