Position Title:
Operations Manager - Western Region
Job Purpose
The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all operational activities at assigned locations to ensure safe, efficient, compliant, and cost-effective operations. The role includes leadership oversight of Fire Protection, Fire & Emergency Response, and Safety-related operations in industrial and Oil & Gas environments.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Operations Management

Plan, direct, and manage all operational activities for assigned locations in line with approved business goals.

Ensure operations are conducted in an efficient, cost-effective, and compliant manner.

Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices.

Formulate and execute strategic and operational objectives aligned with organizational priorities.

Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, fire assets, equipment, and materials.
Fire & Emergency Operations Oversight

Provide managerial oversight for fire protection systems, fire prevention programs, and emergency response operations.

Ensure readiness, availability, and compliance of fire equipment, vehicles, and emergency response resources.

Oversee fire team deployment, shift planning, and resource allocation to meet operational and client requirements.

Coordinate fire risk assessments, emergency response planning, and fire drills in collaboration with HSE teams.

Ensure fire operations comply with applicable standards, including NFPA, client fire safety requirements, and local regulations.

Support investigation and corrective actions related to fire incidents, near misses, or emergency events.
People & Performance Leadership

Lead, motivate, and support operational and fire response teams in a time-sensitive and high-risk environment.

Supervise team activities, including work allocation, scheduling, and performance monitoring.

Develop career development plans for direct reports, including fire and emergency response leadership succession.

Address operational and performance issues through structured problem resolution and corrective actions.
Risk, Safety & Compliance
-
Identify operational and fire-related risks and implement preventive and corrective mitigation measures.

Ensure compliance with QA/QC, HSE, fire safety, security, and environmental requirements.

Promote strong safety culture and emergency preparedness across all operational locations.
Financial & Business Control
-
Support operational cost control and financial performance, including P&L-related metrics.

Monitor and optimize fire-related operational costs, equipment utilization, and maintenance expenses.

Assist in project cost management, revenue generation, and customer invoicing processes.
-
Contributes to short- and long-term planning related to staffing, fire equipment, vehicles, and budget requirements.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
-
Act as a focal point for client coordination on operational and fire safety matters.

Communicate customer concerns and operational issues to internal teams and drive improvement actions.

Ensure high standards of service delivery in fire protection and emergency response operations.
Supply Chain & Asset Management
-
Work closely with the Supply Chain department to ensure availability and readiness of fire equipment, PPE, vehicles, and emergency assets.

Analyze inventory utilization to minimize sub-rental, downtime, and operational inefficiencies.

Support procurement planning for fire systems, safety equipment, and emergency
response resources.
Continuous Improvement & Administration

Drive continuous improvement initiatives corrective action programs, and operational excellence initiatives.

Ensure operational and fire procedures function effectively and meet regulatory and client expectations.

Completely required administrative and operational reports accurately and on time.

Perform any other related duties reasonably assigned by the Line Manager within the scope of the role.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Safety, Fire Science, or a related field.
Experience
-
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, with exposure to Oil & Gas, industrial operations, or fire services.
Fire & Safety Knowledge
-
Strong understanding of Fire Protection Systems, fire prevention, and emergency response operations.

Knowledge of NFPA standards, fire risk assessments, and emergency preparedness programs.

Experience coordinating fire teams, emergency drills, and incident response frameworks.
-
Ability to manage fire operations within high-risk industrial environments.
