Operations Manager-Chocolate Manufacturing

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

We are looking for a highly skilled Operations Manager to oversee and improve the complete operations of our chocolate manufacturing company. This role requires expertise in chocolate production, quality assurance, supply chain management, and retail operations to maintain consistent product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.


Salary: AED 20,000 to 25,000/-


Key Responsibilities:


1. Chocolate Manufacturing & Production Management:


  • Oversee chocolate production from raw material sourcing to finished products.
  • Manage the tempering, molding, enrobing, and cooling processes to ensure product consistency.
  • Develop and refine recipes in collaboration with R&D teams.
  • Maintain strict control over ingredient selection to ensure premium quality.
  • Monitor production efficiency and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions for chocolate to prevent bloom and maintain freshness.
  • Coordinate with chocolatiers and production staff to develop artisanal and innovative products.


2. Quality Assurance & Food Safety Compliance:


  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures throughout production.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards (HACCP, ISO 22000, FDA, GMP).
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits of manufacturing facilities.
  • Monitor product texture, flavor, and consistency through sensory evaluations.
  • Address customer complaints related to product defects or quality issues.
  • Ensure proper chocolate packaging to maintain freshness and visual appeal.


3. Retail & Store Operations Management:


  • Oversee daily retail store operations, including sales, merchandising, and customer service.
  • Develop and implement visual merchandising strategies to enhance product presentation.
  • Ensure all chocolate products are displayed at optimal temperatures.
  • Train store staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer engagement.
  • Implement loyalty programs and promotional campaigns to drive sales.


4. Supply Chain & Inventory Management:


  • Oversee procurement of cocoa, dairy, and other essential ingredients.
  • Manage relationships with chocolate suppliers, ensuring sustainable sourcing.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Optimize logistics and warehouse operations to minimize waste and losses.
  • Implement cost-effective sourcing strategies while maintaining premium quality.


5. Financial & Cost Management:


  • Develop and control budgets for manufacturing and retail operations.
  • Monitor cost of goods sold (COGS) and optimize pricing strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for reducing production and distribution costs.
  • Analyze sales performance and adjust operations accordingly.


6. Product Innovation & Market Trends:


  • Stay updated on emerging chocolate trends.
  • Work with marketing teams to launch new products and limited-edition collections.
  • Collaborate with chefs and chocolatiers to create unique offerings.
  • Research and introduce sustainable packaging options.


7. Team Leadership & Training:


  • Recruit, train, and mentor production and retail staff.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for both manufacturing and retail teams.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement staff development programs.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and innovation.


8. Customer Experience & Brand Management:


  • Ensure an exceptional customer experience across retail locations.
  • Monitor customer feedback and drive improvements in product and service quality.
  • Work closely with marketing teams to align branding and operational strategies.
  • Develop partnerships with hotels, cafes, and corporate clients for B2B sales.



Qualifications & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Food Science, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in chocolate or confectionery manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of chocolate production techniques, ingredients, and quality control.
  • Experience in managing a team across production and retail sectors.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and certifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management, and POS software.
