Job Title: Operations Manager – Infrastructure Construction

Job Summary:
The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day project execution, resource management, and operational performance across infrastructure construction projects (roads, bridges, utilities, drainage, etc.). The role requires strong leadership in planning, coordination, and execution to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, quality control, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all operational aspects of multiple infrastructure construction projects.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate project execution in line with approved timelines and budgets.
- Ensure project progress aligns with client requirements, design specifications, and quality standards.
- Manage manpower allocation, equipment utilization, and material procurement to optimize efficiency.
- Supervise project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure smooth workflow and performance.
- Review and approve project cost estimates, work programs, and progress reports.
- Monitor site performance, identify risks, and implement corrective measures to prevent delays.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and government authorities for project approvals and inspections.
- Enforce compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and ensure zero-incident operations.
- Prepare and present operational reports, KPIs, and forecasts to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and resource utilization.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure construction (roads, bridges, utilities, etc.), with at least 3 years in a managerial/operations role.
- Proven experience in managing multiple large-scale civil/infrastructure projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, construction methodologies, and quality control standards.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (Primavera, MS Project, etc.) and MS Office Suite.
- Sound understanding of local regulations, HSE standards, and contract administration.
Preferred Attributes:
- PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
- Experience working with government or semi-government infrastructure projects.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and drive operational excellence.
