Oracle Applications Administrator — Job Description
Role Summary
Responsible for providing day-to-day administration, configuration, and support of enterprise applications, including Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Oracle Fusion Cloud SaaS, and related applications, databases, and integrations. Ensures system availability, reliability, integrity, and compliance with organizational standards while supporting business continuity and security requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support enterprise applications ensuring smooth operation and data integrity.
- Perform routine system checks, updates, and backups to maintain system integrity and performance.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle EBS and Oracle Fusion Cloud applications.
- Assist senior team members in applying system upgrades, patches, maintenance, and enhancements.
- Manage user access, security, and permissions within enterprise applications.
- Monitor system performance, analyze trends/system load, and identify areas for improvement.
- Support system testing following patching and upgrades, including business continuity testing.
- Log, track, and document support escalations and resolutions within ServiceNow.
- Provide training and support on system functionality to end users and internal support teams during releases.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of business application systems and processes (IT perspective).
- Build relationships with third‑party vendors to resolve complex issues quickly and effectively.
- Assess risks or changes affecting systems and communicate appropriate actions to manage change.
- Ensure security and integrity of data and systems; follow proper procedures to mitigate risks.
- Assist with data migration and testing; understand and support data management and accuracy.
- Support audit requirements and implement recommendations; assist with audit reviews.
- Participate in on‑call rotations for after‑hours support; handle occasional night/weekend outages or upgrades.
- Administer Oracle databases (on‑prem and OCI), including backup/recovery and performance tuning.
- Provide basic administration for Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) resources (compute, storage, networking, DBaaS) and monitor health.
- Support and manage integrations between EBS and Oracle Fusion Cloud.
Qualifications
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent certifications and experience).
- Three (3) or more years of experience in IT support, system administration, or application‑specific administration.
- Proficiency across enterprise applications such as financial,human resources, supply chain systems, cloud platforms, monitoring, and scripting.
Skills
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Oracle EBS administration and Oracle Fusion Cloud SaaS.
- Proficiency in Oracle Database administration working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services (IaaS & PaaS).
- Knowledge of security best practices (SSO, encryption), performance tuning, and DR procedures.
