Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Willing to travel between our Westchase and Brandon location.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in compliance with safety protocols.
• Take and record vital signs of patients as needed.
• Manage patient records using dental software systems.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
• Operate 3D scanners for imaging as required.
• Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
• Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to uphold infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
• Familiarity with dental terminology and medical terminology is preferred.
• Experience with computers.
• Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding basic medical concepts.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
• Previous experience in a dental assisting role is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Ability to demonstrate four-handed dentistry techniques is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
