PART-TIME INTERIOR DESIGN ASSOCIATE

About the Role

Our team is looking for a highly organized, design-savvy Interior Designer to support our growing design studio and play a key role in bringing new construction and custom homes to life!

This position is tailored specifically towards assisting us in developing builder-ready build-out packages. You main role is to develop comprehensive documentation that supports builders, architects, and clients through the construction and finish selection process. This is not an entry level position — We are seeking someone who has previously worked on full-scale residential projects, and understands the rhythm of design studio workflows and can balance independence with collaborative teamwork.

What You'll Do

• Support new build and renovation projects by developing comprehensive build-out packages, including:

-Material selections (flooring, tile, paint, cabinetry, hardware)

-Plumbing and lighting fixture selections

-Appliance and material specifications

-Finish schedules for all selections

• Prepare and maintain annotated plans, organized spec sheets, and completion of build-out packages.
• Coordinate with vendors on material selections while adhering to client budgets
• Collaborate with our designers to ensure alignment and accuracy
• Update documentation as projects evolve and selections or availability change

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in residential interior design, with a focus on new construction or remodels
• Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, trade coordination, and project timelines
• Experience with tools like AutoCAD, Canva, Adobe, or design management software is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously
• A collaborative, flexible mindset and willingness to help build systems as our studio grows
• Clear, professional communication skills

Schedule

• Approximately 20 hours per week, with potential for growth as workload increases
