The Pastry Chef / Cake Decorator is responsible for creating high-quality pastries, desserts, and custom cakes with exceptional flavor, texture, and visual appeal. This role combines strong technical baking skills with creativity in design, ensuring products meet both aesthetic and taste expectations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about delivering premium baked goods.

Key Responsibilities

Baking & Production

  • Prepare and bake pastries, cakes, cupcakes, cookies, breads, and specialty desserts.
  • Follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in product quality.
  • Manage daily production schedules and ensure timely completion of all orders.
  • Monitor ingredient freshness and proper storage.

Cake Decorating

  • Design, frost, fill, and decorate cakes for weddings, birthdays, and special events.
  • Create custom designs using piping, fondant, gum paste, chocolate work, airbrushing, and other techniques.
  • Collaborate with customers or sales staff to finalize design concepts.
  • Ensure precise execution of custom orders and maintain brand design standards.

Quality & Standards

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health standards (HACCP or local regulations).
  • Conduct quality checks on all finished products.
  • Maintain consistent portion sizes and visual presentation.

Inventory & Equipment

  • Monitor stock levels, order ingredients, and minimize waste.
  • Maintain and safely operate bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, airbrush tools, and decorating equipment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions promptly.

Required:

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Cake Decorator, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques and pastry arts.
  • Expertise in cake design, fondant work, piping, and decorating methods.
  • Creativity, artistic ability, and a strong eye for detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple orders.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR3,500.00 - QAR4,000.00 per month
