Patient Service Representative

Job Summary

Greet and register patients for evaluation and treatment. Verify medical insurance and ensure payment due at the time of service is collected. Always maintain a clean and neat appearance. Provide administrative support to the Nurse Manager/Facility Administrator and other staff as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides front office registration duties such as greeting and verifying, benefits, HIPAA consent forms, patient demographics, and payment receipts.
• Scans and enters patient information/medical reports in patient files through E-Power.
• Enters patient/service census and survey data.
• Provides medical records to other providers as requested with a medical release form signed by the patient.
• Properly log payment and cash receipts as required.
• Maintains adequate levels of supplies for patients’ use, such as water, coffee, condiments, and snacks.
• Performs duties to ensure the work area and restrooms are clean and free from hazards.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and employee-related issues.
• Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity.
• Answers telephone in a polite manner, communicates clearly, and when necessary, transfers calls or information to the appropriate staff.
• Attends Patient Service Representative meetings as scheduled by the Nurse Manager/Facility Administrator, System Business Manager, or management staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2-year experience in clerical support.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• CPR Certification preferred.
