Salary: PKR 100,000 – 140,000 per month (Based on Experience)

About the Role

Sovereign Express Trade Limited is seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant to manage payroll operations and support accounting activities for our Pakistan and UK entities.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with Xero Accounting Software, a strong understanding of UK VAT regulations, and a minimum of 3 years of Pakistan payroll accounting experience. Candidates must have independently processed payroll for at least 50 employees, while preference will be given to those who have managed payroll for 100 or more employees.

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate payroll processing, payroll accounting, statutory compliance, payroll reconciliations, UK VAT support, and maintaining financial records in accordance with Pakistan and UK accounting standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Processing

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and within deadlines.
  • Manage payroll using FlowHCM or similar HR/payroll software.
  • Verify attendance, leaves, overtime, bonuses, commissions, incentives, deductions, and allowances.
  • Prepare salary sheets and payroll summaries.
  • Process reimbursements and payroll adjustments.
  • Handle final settlements, gratuity calculations, and leave encashment.
  • Maintain payroll records and employee salary files.

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain accurate accounting records using Xero Accounting Software.
  • Record payroll journals and daily accounting transactions.
  • Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Maintain payroll-related accounting schedules.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing.
  • Support internal and external audits.

UK VAT & Compliance

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining UK VAT records.
  • Ensure accounting records comply with UK VAT requirements.

Pakistan Statutory Compliance

  • Calculate and deduct Income Tax from employee salaries.
  • Manage EOBI and Provident Fund contributions.
  • Prepare payroll-related tax reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Pakistan labor laws and FBR regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of Pakistan Payroll Accounting experience (Required).

Required Experience

Candidates must have:

  • Hands-on experience using Xero Accounting Software.
  • Good knowledge of UK VAT regulations and VAT record maintenance.
  • Minimum 3 years of Pakistan Payroll Accounting experience.
  • Independently processed payroll for at least 50 employees.
  • Experience using FlowHCM or similar payroll software.
