Clarkwell & Co is a London-based firm of Chartered Certified Accountants and Tax Advisors, supporting a wide portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses, property investors, consultants, and international clients. We are expanding our dedicated payroll team and are seeking a UK-Experienced Payroll Administrator to join our Lahore office in Gulberg (Al Hafeez Heights).

Role Overview

The Payroll Administrator will play a vital role in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services for a diverse UK client base. You will work closely with the Payroll Manager and wider accounts team, ensuring all clients receive a consistent, reliable, and high-quality level of service.

This position offers the opportunity to strengthen your understanding of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, pensions, and compliance processes, while being part of a friendly and rapidly growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for UK clients across various industries.
  • Manage RTI submissions, including FPS and EPS filings via HMRC.
  • Calculate statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP, and SAP.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records including starters, leavers, changes of details, and variable pay.
  • Prepare and issue payslips, payroll summaries, P45s, P60s, and year-end submissions.
  • Handle auto-enrolment duties including pension assessments, enrolments, and uploads (NEST, Smart Pension, etc.).
  • Respond to employee and client payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with CIS monthly returns and verification of subcontractors.
  • Liaise with HMRC regarding payroll-related matters when required.
  • Ensure compliance with current UK payroll legislation and keep up to date with regulatory changes.
  • Work collaboratively with the accounts and tax team to support clients’ wider compliance needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years UK payroll experience within an accountancy firm or outsourced payroll bureau (Required).
  • Strong working knowledge of PAYE, RTI, auto-enrolment and UK payroll legislation.
  • Experience using payroll software such as BrightPay, Moneysoft, Xero Payroll, Sage Payroll, or similar.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical ability.
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to excellent client service.
  • Ability to use initiative, work independently, and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and build strong employer–client relationships.
  • A proactive approach to developing both technical and soft skills.
