Payroll Clerk

Our Melrose, MN office is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to add to our Accounting Team as a full-time Payroll Clerk. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining employee records, and supporting various payroll and human resource functions.

Key Responsibilities:

· Processes bi-weekly payroll for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy in hours worked, deductions, and benefits.

· Process payroll tax payments and assist with year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s, etc.).

· Regular auditing of time clock transactions.

· Administers corporate credit card program.

· Assists with audits of insurance, employee benefits, and vendors.

· Assists with onboarding and offboarding processes.

· Assists with recruitment processes.

· Maintains and updates employee records, both digital and physical.

· Performs office tasks including electronic filing and data entry.

· Checks for accuracy in reports, figures, and postings.

· Assists with ensuring compliance with company policies and federal/state employment laws.

· Performs various administrative tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience:

· Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience accepted.

· Previous experience in payroll processing is preferred.

· Proficiency with computers and bookkeeping software, specifically MS Office (Excel and Outlook).

· Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

· Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

· Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members across departments.

· A commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive employee information.

Schedule: On-site; Full-time; Monday – Friday

Wage: Minimum of $19/hour; Individual compensation to be determined based on applicable experience and qualifications balanced against internal equity.
